With an international student community of more than 130 nations studying in the Malaysian campus, APU offers a truly cosmopolitan learning environment which prepares students well for the global challenges which lie ahead. APU offers a wide range of degrees with Technology as a common core. It is APU’s aim to nurture and encourage innovation through our programs, with the intention of producing individuals who will learn, adapt and think differently in new and better ways.

Being a university student can be one of your most exciting expeditions. At APU, we build fun and creativity into regular based learning both inside and outside the classroom. Higher education opens up a world of new ideas, intellectual growth, social, sporting and cultural activities, new adventures and the building of lifelong friendships. Here at APU with more than 60 clubs and societies, student life is lively and unique.  We support you to take the time to explore not only the educational experiences but also the wide range of social, sporting and cultural activities on campus.

APU offers many opportunities to get involved in student life such as;

  • Become a member of a club or society or start your own – an ideal way to make new friends, endless entertainment and learning.
  • Make a difference by standing for election in the Students’ Representative Council.
  • Become a Student Ambassador and assist at Student Services and Marketing. Those who are selected gets hands-on experiences in working with people of diverse culture, inducing a corporate working environment in their mindset even before graduation.
  • Working While Studying. At APU, we have on-campus part-time working opportunities for students - library assistant, IT labs technical assistant, programmer, multimedia developer, and Student Ambassadors.

Besides that, the students are constantly exposed to professional and personal development workshop for free, which are designed for them to acquire the necessary skills and attribute needed to become high demand graduates in the market.

These are just a few ways for you to make your time at our university as fulfilling and exciting as possible. Having a university degree is no longer a guarantee of securing a highly-paid job, but both the experience and the ability to contribute to the organization are mainly demanded by employers. Upon completion at APU, you are awarded a degree certificate, plus the experience and professionalism required for a successful career.

Living costs to study in Malaysia is relatively affordable compared to other countries. This is a major advantage for international students when choosing to study in Malaysia. Estimated living cost is RM1,600 - RM2,000 (USD400 - USD500) per month depend on the living lifestyle of the students.

Graduate students from the following nationalities are eligible to apply for the Graduate Pass issued by Immigration Department of Malaysia:

Graduate Pass for international Students

The Graduate pass allows international students to stay in Malaysia for a year after graduation. This enables them to further their studies, travel, and work in permitted job sectors.

The graduate pass allows:

  • Multiple Entry Visa (MEV) which provides ease of entry and exit into the country.
  • Dependents of the student are also eligible for the Dependent Graduate Pass with the same duration as the student.
  • Can work part-time in permitted job sectors

Eligibility Requirements for Graduate Pass Applicant

  • Your passport must be valid for at least 18 months.
  • The Graduate Pass is only issued to students who have completed a Bachelor’s degree or higher.
  • You must provide a letter of completion from your educational institution proving you have successfully completed your course.
  • You must hold a valid Student Pass during the Graduate Pass application process.
  • You must have an active health insurance policy for the duration of the Graduate Pass.
  • You must provide a personal bond with a Malaysian citizen as your sponsor, who must have a minimum monthly salary of RM 1,500.
  • The student must not have any legal convictions in Malaysia.
  • Candidates from China and India - the applicant must provide a letter of good conduct from either their educational institution or their respective embassy.

Supporting Documents for Dependents of Graduate Pass

Family members who have a valid dependent pass can apply to extend their stay as dependents under the Graduate Pass.

  • Passport bio data page
  • Valid dependent pass
  • The passport must be valid for at least 18 months from the date of application
  • Insurance cover note

  • A sponsor declaration letter from a Malaysian citizen with a monthly income of at least RM 1,500. Click here to download the template
