Scholarships & Financial Aid

In driving and transforming MSU towards excellence, financial assistance has been provided to outstanding and deserving students to acquire quality education. The funds are distributed through various means including collaborative efforts between MSU and several public and private institutional partners. All scholarships, sponsorship and financial aid are offered through the MSU Foundation and the following scheme. Up to 100% Scholarship:

Presidents Scholarship

A prestigious MSU scholarship awarded to students who demonstrate excellent academic performance and come from financially challenged backgrounds.

MSU Outstanding Rewards Scholarship (MORE)

Designed for well-rounded students with academic excellence and outstanding extra-curricular achievements, especially those who have represented their school or state in competitions.

Joint Scholarships

Offered in collaboration with organisations such as The Star Education Fund and Sin Chew Education Fund, providing full or partial scholarships to Malaysian students from underprivileged backgrounds.

Fellowship and SLAB Schemes

Fellowships are offered to postgraduate PhD candidates. The SLAB scheme provides full internal sponsorship for MSU academic staff to pursue advanced degrees.

Affin Education Financing-I

A Syariah-compliant financing solution by Affin Islamic Bank to support MSU students in undergraduate and postgraduate studies.

PTPTN Loan

Education loans by PTPTN to help local students pay tuition and living expenses throughout their academic journey at MSU.

MSU also provides support for meals, housing, transportation, and educational resources based on students’ socio-economic background. All financial aid is channelled through MSU Foundation (Yayasan MSU) or the university.
