Introduction

Kolej Negeri was established on 5th July 1988 and has since progressed to become a reputable private higher educational institution offering a variety of courses. It is strategically located in Seremban which is approximately 40 miles to the south of Kuala Lumpur.

What Makes Us Special

With 15 years of experience and committed staff, Kolej Negeri is set to produce graduates who are knowledgeable and competent in their specialised fields. Knowing the importance of English language in the world today, English proficiency classes are provided in every course of study. Kolej Negeri was awarded the ISO 9002 certification by Det Norske Veritas (DNV, Norway) in 2000 and certified with the updated ISO 9001:2000. In March 2003, the college has also achieved the MSC Status Company where programmes are recognised internationally. Tuition fees at Kolej Negeri are very affordable and some of these fees are the lowest among the institutions offering the same courses. Students may also choose an installment scheme for paying their fees. Most of the students, however, received education loans or scholarships from the various sponsoring bodies.

Programme Outline

Kolej Negeri offers 16 diploma courses. Thirteen of them are in collaboration with Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), one with Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) and another two are internal programmes. The college also offers internal certificate programmes and skills based courses (MLVK) in 12 disciplines. Ten diploma courses are awarded the MSC (Multimedia Super Corridor) status. With the MSC Status, diploma graduates may obtain employment with international companies or further their studies to a higher level at any local or foreign universities.

Facilities

There are 30 classrooms, 4 lecture halls, 3 lecture theatres and 8 ICT laboratories. The library has a large collection of books for the students, an Internet access, an audio room as well as a reference corner. In addition, there are 4 engineering labs, 10 architecture studios, 2 automotive workshops, 2 electrical workshops, a mechanical workshop and a refrigeration & AC workshop to carry out practical work. Recreational and sports facilities are also provided for students and staff. Football, badminton, netball, volleyball and other outdoor games courts are available for students. Hostels are also provided for those who choose to stay in the campus.
