Launch of MSU’s TVET Programme by YAB Dato’ Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia

SHAH ALAM, 30 July 2025 — Management and Science University (MSU) continues to advance the national Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) agenda with the official Launching Ceremony of MSU’s TVET Programme by the Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the National TVET Council, YAB Dato’ Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
The ceremony at MSU’s main campus was attended by MSU President and Founder Professor Tan Sri Dato’ Wira Dr Mohd Shukri Ab. Yajid; Vice-Chancellor Professor Puan Sri Datuk Dr Junainah Abd Hamid; Pro-Chancellor Dato’ Seri Ir. Dr Zaini Ujang; Dato’ Dr Hj Megat Sany Megat Ahmad Sufian, Deputy Secretary General (Policy), Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE); along with university senior management, staff, and students.
TVET Clusters and Focus Areas
MSU’s TVET programme is designed as an inclusive platform connecting students, communities, industries, and policymakers within a holistic higher education ecosystem. It is structured across five clusters:
- Hospitality and Tourism
- Medical and Health Sciences
- Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Security and Games
- Business and Management
- Education and Social Sciences
Beyond these clusters, MSU offers high-impact programmes in specialised fields such as Cardiovascular Technology, Engineering, Nursing, and Aircraft Maintenance.
New TVET Programmes Announced
To meet growing industry demand in culinary arts, hotel management, cybersecurity, and game development, MSU introduced four new programmes:
- Bachelor in Game Development (Honours)
- Bachelor in Hotel Management (Honours)
- Bachelor in Culinary Management (Honours)
- Diploma in Networking and Cyber Security
These initiatives strengthen talent pipelines and support job-guarantee and job-matching efforts through smart partnerships between higher education institutions and industry.
MoU/MoA with 57 Industry Partners
In conjunction with the launch, MSU exchanged MoUs and MoAs with 57 industry partners to secure job opportunities for students and collaborate on staff exchanges, knowledge sharing, R&D, and industrial training.
Hospitality & Tourism cluster partners include: UEDA College of Fashion (Japan); Zhonghang Future (Southern China Airline Services & Training Base); Hebei College of Industry and Technology (China); Liuzhou Railway Vocational and Technical College (China); Marriott International Group (20 hotels nationwide); Malaysian Association of Hotels (MAH); DoubleTree by Hilton i-City Shah Alam; Seri Pacific Kuala Lumpur; Chef Wan Group of Restaurants; Serai Group; Dandy Restaurant; Kays Lobster and Steak; CZ Group; Ascott Kuala Lumpur; Acapella Suite Hotel; Harmoni Perkasa (Banyan Tree Kuala Lumpur, Pavilion Hotel Kuala Lumpur); Palace Butcher Resources (Me’nate Steak Hub); Concorde Hotel Shah Alam; Laketown Cameron Highlands; The Boathouse Pulau Tioman.

Strengthening the TVET Ecosystem
Demonstrating its commitment to TVET, MSU launched ChitChat TVET, a podcast series produced with Media & Strategic Communication and MSU Academy to spark conversations, share insights, and highlight success stories across the TVET ecosystem.
MSU also continues smart collaborations with the Government-Industry TVET Coordination Body (GITC) and the Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers (FMM) to empower MSU students. The University’s efforts have been recognised with Malaysia’s Best University (TVET Education) by Malaysia Education & TVET 2023 (META 2023) and The Employers’ Choice of Universities 2025 by Talentbank.
