Purpose of award
The major donors' intent was to help setup a scholarship that recognises the past education links between Malaysia and New Zealand under the Colombo Plan which saw a number of Malaysians being given the opportunity to study at the University of Canterbury, Christchurch, New Zealand. They trust that this scholarship will carry on those traditions and support successful applicants from Malaysia in their study at the University of Canterbury.
Selection criteria
The scholarship shall be awarded annually at the beginning of the University year, to an international student from Malaysia who is enrolling full time at the University of Canterbury in their first year of study of any discipline. Malaysian students who have permanent residence are not eligible to apply.

General Information
How do students apply?
Application forms are available approximately 8 weeks before applications close.
Additional information
The scholarship will contribute to the cost of the recipients' tuition fees and compulsory charges. The scholarship may not be held with any other scholarship or award that comprises payment of tuition fees. The value of the scholarship shall be determined and published approximately three months in advance of the application closing date in the year prior to the tenure of the award.
