Yayasan Sabah invites eligible students to apply for Scholarships, Financial Aid (Dermasiswa), and Study Loans for the 2026 intake.
The funding covers studies at Certificate, Diploma, Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s, and PhD levels.
Eligibility
Applicants must meet one of the following:
- Applicant and both parents are Malaysian citizens from Sabah; or
- One parent is from Sabah; or
- One parent is Malaysian and the other is a permanent resident of Sabah
Priority is given to applicants who are born and residing in Sabah.
Types of Funding
1. Scholarships
Includes multiple schemes such as:
- Sabah Excellent Scholarship (minimum 5A+ in SPM)
- Rural Student Scholarship (B40, minimum 5A)
- Higher Education Scholarship (minimum 5 credits SPM + CGPA 3.0 for Degree)
- ASEAN / Middle East Scholarships (Islamic Studies / Medicine)
- Specialised programmes (Engineering, Architecture, IT, Veterinary, Hospitality, Early Childhood, etc.)
Study locations:
- Local universities (IPTA / IPTS)
- Selected overseas institutions (Indonesia, Egypt, Russia, etc.)
2. Financial Aid (Dermasiswa)
For students studying in:
- Kolej Teknologi Yayasan Sabah (KTYS)
- Polytechnic
- UiTM
Minimum requirement:
- 3 SPM credits including Bahasa Melayu
3. Study Loans
Available for:
- IPTA / IPTS
- KTYS
- UCSF
- ASEAN / Middle East / Overseas institutions
- Distance Learning (PJJ)
Age Limit
- Certificate / Diploma / Degree: Not more than 35 years old
- Master’s / PhD: Not more than 45 years old
