Course Overview

The industrial chemistry programme focuses on Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) and provides essential knowledge and skills required by the chemical industry. Subjects such as Testing Laboratories and Advanced Industrial Organic Chemistry deepen understanding of core principles, while ESG principles and carbon reduction courses prepare graduates for sustainability challenges. Practical training, industry relevance, and the integration of non-chemistry subjects further enhance graduates’ readiness for diverse roles in the chemical sector.

Entry Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree (Level 6 Malaysian Qualifications Framework, MQF) in Chemistry or related fields with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 as accepted by the HEP Senate; OR
  • A Bachelor’s degree (Level 6, MQF) in Chemistry or related fields with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 and not meeting CGPA of 2.50 can be accepted, subject to a rigorous internal assessment; OR
  • Other equivalent/related qualifications to a Bachelor’s degree (Level 6, MQF) recognised by the Malaysian Government.

English Language Requirements

  • Malaysian Students: MUET Band 3.5 / IELTS Band 5.0 / CEFR High B1 / TOEFL iBT 40 or equivalent; OR Exemption if medium of instruction during Bachelor studies was in English
  • International Students: IELTS Band 5.0 / CEFR High B1 / TOEFL iBT 40 or equivalent; OR Exemption if medium of instruction during Bachelor studies was in English
